Blog is hijacked

Rick has had writers block for several months. I thought it was time to get caught up with the happenings around us. If I repeat some of the last post, please forgive me, for I have hardly any memory left.

Lets start with the month of October. I started working at the office several days a week and was ok'd to check in day users. Later that month I was extended to checking in campers.  I am now able to check in campers and sell park passes. I love talking to people and seeing a smile on their face when they leave the office.  We also brought Memphis bbq to our monthly staff meeting. We always have a potluck lunch before the staff meeting.

I got to meet and work with another park host too. Her name is Elaine Gann. She and her husband, Bruce, clean the sites and shelters after the campers leave. Elaine and I put our heads together and decorated the activity center for the lead ranger. He retired October 31st. We took pine cones and added glitter to them and a few of the stems. They were stacked with artificial leaves. Can you believe I can't remember what else was on the table? I told you my memory bank is full.

November came with several people leaving or quitting the park. With the lead ranger gone and 4 of the specialists helpers gone, the park is a little short handed. We also had an office worker quit too. I have helped with traffic management when necessary and also checked in campers. I still have much more training to go to be as good as the other ladies. I appreciate their patience with me.

I can not believe the amount of people that have gone in and out of the park for the Thanksgiving holidays.
I helped at the office several times last week because it was so busy. I felt bad that we went to Val's for Thanksgiving  but soon forgot about the park because of the company I was with. Thanksgiving was very nice. Val got her usual telephone calls and so did we. Chris and Linda joined us in the afternoon. To our surprise, we were privileged to have Dominique's company for the afternoon. Michele showed up with her friend Mark. Danielle had spent the night here. Hail, Hail, the gang is all here. By 8 o'clock I was headed to bed. Must have been the turkey that made me so sleepy.

We did decide to draw names for christmas this year. We have chosen to make our gifts and spend no more than 20 dollars on the gift. I need to get started on mine soon. I have a few ideas of what I want to do. I have no idea what Rick will come up with.

Well, time is growing shorter here. We have about 5 more weeks before we head back to Memphis. I am looking forward to coming back. Rick is too busy with the park to realize time is growing short. Keep reading our blog and hopefully I will keep you up to date with our happenings.

Love to all.
