We finally heard from MLGW. It seems the guy Mike had talked to went on vacation last week and no one took his place.
He came out today to measure and take some notes and told Mike that it would be 4 to 6 WEEKS before they could start the job. That is after they receive a payment from Mike for the work which hasn't been priced yet.
This is the problem when you have a monopoly. They do things on their time. This would be totally unacceptable time frame in the commercial world. OH WELL.

Oh no! You are so right - I don't know where the work ethics are - as I don't think people are THAT busy - it took six weeks from the time we contracted with the guy to do our screened in porch to him starting the job - and we had to pay for the materials up front! Oh well, it all worked out - just frustrating. Good luck.
