Back at Timber Ridge

We returned to Timber Ridge on Monday after a wonderful week with friends at Rayford.
Several of our Boomer friends were at the park and we made some new acquaintances while were there. I went to have coffee with the guys who are wintering at the park, on a couple of mornings. We tried to solve the worlds problems, but alas, to no avail.

The new year party was very nice. The food was very good and the band was pretty good. The rally room was full with partyers, most in the themed 70's costumes.
We drove over to Timber Ridge to work most every day. I took off Saturday while Brenda went to work, to spend time with Jay, Stella, Ted & Donna. We all went chair shopping at Lazy Boy, but no one bought anything.

Ted and Donna were going to leave Sunday, but decided to stay and leave Monday (ain't retirement great). Jay and Stella were going to go to Dickinson, but decided to leave on Monday. We all got together and played Mexican Train, then put some food together and ate. We had a really good time.

Our camera died, just out of warranty. I tried to find a way to fix it myself, online, but, I did find what seemed to cause the problem. Don't put one of those small digital cameras in a snug fitting case. It restricts the movement of the lens and causes the camera to fail. The sides of our case is soft and it appears that the camera can be turned on while still in the case. We have lost 2
cameras in the last year.

Our electric bill for December was outrageous. After we returned home I plugged in the motor home. I watched the wheel on the meter spin very fast. There was nothing on in the MH, save the converter. I turned everything off and the meter stopped. I then proceeded to turn things back on. in the breaker panel . When I got to the converter the meter started spinning very rapidly. My neighbor suggested that maybe something was wrong with the house batteries. I tested the batteries and sure enough they would not hold a charge so the converter was constantly trying to charge the batteries. They lasted 6 years, and I got the new ones for a good price. I have been watching the meter and the usage has dropped to one third of what we have been using.

Ta ta for now.
