New Chairs

Yesterday was a travel day and the day to pick up our chairs.
We stopped at Lambright's and had the couch removed and the chairs installed. Nate was not familiar with how the couch was assembled, so took a few minutes for him to evaluate and remove the couch. It took about 1 1/2 hours for that process.Ted and Donna left the park shortly after we did and headed on towards Utica, Il. We had made a route the night before, but they called and modified it a couple of times. They went through some pretty rough areas on US 30 south of Gary, In. Donna called and suggested that we take a different route around that area. We did so and cut off about 45 minutes. We went up to I80 just south of Chicago. The traffic was heavy as you might imagine, but it moved at a good pace. I was following the flow of traffic and had a hard time keeping under the speed limit.
Part of I 80 is toll, but the toll was only $1.70 for the time it was metered.

We arrived at Hickory Hill CG about 1:00pm. just behind the Rogers.
This is a nice park. Level sites, full HU, and fairly quiet. We are not far from the freeway. Price was right, too, $17.00.
The temperature was chilly. We cooked and ate outside and all had jackets on.
On Tuesday we went to the Shipsewana Flea Market. It is huge. I believe it is larger than even the one in Rome. We spent about 2 hours there, but we hardly scratched the surface.
We wanted to tour the Gulfstream factory, so we had to leave earlier than we wanted to. The factory is in Nappanee and it took almost an hour to get there.
The tour was kind of a disappointment, as they were not in production. With the economic downturn, they have consolidated A class and B class MHs. They have also cut employees from over 600 to less than 100. There were about 8 class B's in various stages of production. We were told that all of these rigs had been ordered. They are not building new units just for general sale, they must be ordered.
Donna noticed a sign by the time clock stating that production has ceased and will resune 7/17/09. What a shame that the RV industry has taken such a large hit.

We are back in central time zone, so it dark here an hour earlier than when we were in Howe. I was very tired , so went to bed early. Brenda stayed up and read. The sun comes up before 5am. It is cool this morning. I had to run the heat to knock the chill off in the coach.

We are travelling to Amana Colonies, Ia. today. It is only 162 miles, so a short, easy trip.

Ta ta for now.

Those recliners looks very comfy !!
Am jealous of the "kind of chilly" temps you are enjoying in Illinois - we are still 100 + every day - and No Rain :(

Jerry and I are going to the horse races on July 4th - wish me luck - it is always a fun way to celebrate the holiday and the fireworks are awesome !!
